Allevents.in: 'Roundtable breakfast discussion on livestock methane'
How can the EU take livestock methane out of its blindspot?
About this Event
With COP27 only a few weeks away, it is time for EU institutions to question whether the EU is on track to meet commitments made under the Global Methane Pledge adopted a year ago at COP26. While a methane regulation is underway for the energy sector, the livestock sector by far the largest contributor to methane emissions in the EU and offering the most potential for reduction, remains largely a blindspot for EU institutions.
This event, co-hosted and sponsored by the organisation Changing Markets Foundation, which launched a campaign called High Steaks dedicated to this issue a few months ago, will be an opportunity for like-minded MEPs on the very specific topic of livestock methane to identify gaps in current legislation, but also opportunities to do more (such as the Industrial Emissions Directive).
