General budget of the European Union for the financial year 2024 - all sections

I voted in favor of this report, which is Parliament's reading on the general budget of the European Union for the financial year 2024, as we need a budget that is fit for purpose and ready to tackle the multiple crises the EU is currently facing and to meet the needs and expectations of EU citizens. The EU budget for 2024 will have to deliver on key priorities related to the worsening impacts of climate change, the costs of living in crisis, as well as the growing humanitarian needs in our neighborhood and around the world. Parliament's reading, with a strong emphasis on programs such as Horizon, CEF - transport, LIFE, Erasmus or NDICI and Humanitarian Aid, is providing the basis for us to address these key priorities. It is clear that in order to have an EU budget in 2024 that is fit for purpose, the revision of the Multiannual Financial Framework is extremely necessary. Parliament's reading on the EU budget for 2024 is therefore a strong call to the Commission and, in particular, to the Member States to speed up negotiations, take responsibility and agree on an ambitious revision of the MFF without further delay.
