MEPs call for urgent help for Romania’s protected areas
Brussels, 11 November 2020- More than 80 MEPs, from five of the seven political groups in the European Parliament and 21 European Union Member States, call for an urgent European Union (EU) intervention to prevent the massive destruction of Romanian primary forests for illegal logging.
Despite an infringement process launched by the EU this year, deforestation continues and, therefore, immediate action and pressure is extremely important.
