I voted in favor of this funding from the EGF. The European Globalization Adjustment Fund aims to show solidarity and promote sustainable and decent employment in the Union by supporting workers and self-employed people who have lost their jobs due to massive restructuring events by helping them to return to the decent and sustainable labour market as soon as possible. The EGF does not provide funding to any company and does not replace actions that are the responsibility of those companies. This particular case concerns 1,518 workers made redundant at Vallourec Deutschland GmbH (VAD), the German subsidiary of Vallourec S.A, France, which manufactured steel tubes in two steelworks in Germany.
